Add Users to MIRC Server Tool

In order to easily create a large number of users, a free program, provided by RadPix, has been created. This program will create the mirc-users.xml and authors.xml files for a MIRC server.

A text file containing:

• User Name
• Password
• Real Name
• Options - a (administrator) or p (publisher)

for each user, with each separated by a "/".

joeuser/tree/Joe User, M.D.
janeuser/bird/Jane User, M.D./p
johndoe/jane/John DOe, M.D.
sanford/lizzie/Hal Sanford, M.D./a

In this example, Jane User is a publisher, and Hal Sanford is an administrator.

To update MIRC user data files:

• Unzip the file, MIRCusers.zip, and run the MIRC-users.exe file.
• Stop Tomcat server.
• Follow the instructions above to create text file. Use Notepad.exe.
• Make a backup copy of the original files below, before you copy over them.
• Copy authors.xml to C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\mircstorage, where mircstorage is the name of your MIRC storage service.
• Copy mirc-users.xml to C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\conf.
• Restart Tomcat server.
