Preferences
|
This Dialog lets the user set various parameters that affect the
operation of RadPix. Some of these options are set during the initial configuration of
RadPix during Setup, and the others default to values that work
for most users.

Image Preferences

Dialog Fields
| Border Pixels to Delete |
Select the number of pixels to delete
around the perimeter of the image. Many images have a white edge surrounding the image and
when the image is placed on a black background, this white border is unsightly. This
option lets the user eliminate the white border. |
| Filter All Raw=4095 |
Similar to above, some images have a
border of pixels with a data value of 4095. Use this option to force those pixels to 0,
which makes them black. |
| No New User Hints |
When you first use RadPix, certain Tool
Tip hints appear that may be annoying. Use this option to turn these off. |
| Default
Window Computation |
If you choose to compute the Window and Level from
Distribution using the Window Level Tool, this option
selects whether the Window will be computed as the Maximum Pixel Value minus the Minimum
Pixel Value or equal to 3 times the Standard Deviation of the Pixel data distribution |
| Default Window |
This is the Window value that is assigned
by default to an image that does not contain a Window Value in the header. |
| Window Maximum |
This sets the maximum that the Window
Value can be set to with the Window Level Tool |
| Default Level |
This is the Level value that is assigned
by default to an image that does not contain a Level Value in the header. |
| Level Maximum |
This sets the maximum that the Level Value
can be set to with the Window Level Tool |

File Locations Preferences

Dialog Fields
| Image File Directory |
This is the root directory where all of
the image files will be placed. It is also known as the Processed Image Directory in the Setup
Program |
| Temporary File Directory |
This is the directory where RadPix
places all of the temporary files that it uses. By default, this is the Windows Temp
Directory |
| PowerPoint Slide Directory |
This is the directory where the PowerPoint
presentations are placed by default. |
| Process Raw Images at Program
Startup |
Check this box to have RadPix process
the raw DICOM images when it starts. See Process
DICOM Images for more details. |
| Raw DICOM Directory |
This is the directory where the raw DICOM
images from the DICOM client are placed. See Process
DICOM Images for more details. |

Dialog Fields
| Pen Color |
This is the color of the pen that is used
to draw on the Image |
| Pen Width |
This is the thickness of the pen used to
draw on the Image |
| Annotation Font |
This is the font used to draw the
annotation |
| Background Color |
This is the background color behind the
annotation |
| Border Color |
This is the color of the border drawn
around the annotation |
| Border Width |
This is the width of the border drawn
around the annotation |

File Format Preferences

Dialog Fields
| Use Compression |
This will enable compression. When an
image is saved, it will be saved |
| Compression Amount |
The amount of compression can be adjusted
from 1 - 9, with 1 having the least amount of compression, and taking the least amount of
time to compress, and 9 having the most compression, and takes the longest time to
compress. Selecting 5 or 6 generally results in a satisfactory tradeoff. |
| Compress Sub-Directories |
Checking this option will cause RadPix
to compress all sub-directories of any directory compressed |
| Delete Original Images after
Compression |
Checking this option will cause RadPix
to delete the original images after they are compressed. |
| Compress DICOM Images at
Startup |
This will automatically compress all DICOM
images as they are processed. |
| Preview Dimensions |
Determines size of bitmap which is used in
the browse feature. The larger the size, the more disk space the file will take
up. 256 is a good size in terms of preview bitmap size and resulting filesize. |
